On August 13th, 2025, the arrest of Ethan Olivo, age 19, and Starlin Siri, age 21, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Ethan Olivo and Starlin Siri were charged with second-degree aggravated arson, third-degree arson, third-degree receiving stolen property (motor vehicle), third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree failure to take responsible measure to put out, control, or report a fire, and fourth-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated arson. The arrest and charges against Ethan Olivo and Starlin Siri were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Chief Dean M. Pinto of the Rochelle Park Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 7:17 a.m. on December 3rd, 2024, reports of a parked vehicle were called in. Responding officers of the Rochelle Park Police Department and the Rochelle Park Fire Department found a 2020 Honda Accord covered in flames. The fire was extinguished and an investigation was launched for the incident. It was determined that the burning vehicle was stolen and intentionally set on fire. Detectives landed on Ethan Olivo and Starlin Siri as the alleged culprits, claiming that they were in possession of the stolen Honda Accord before setting fire to it by throwing a road flare into the passenger compartment. Ethan Olivo was located and arrested on June 20, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, while Starlin Siri was located and arrested on July 10th, 2025, in Yorktown, New York.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Ethan Olivo and Starlin Siri are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
