On September 9th, 2025, the arrest of Rasheen Gaither, age 51, was announced by Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey. Rasheen Gaither was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree certain persons not to possess a handgun. The arrest and charges against Rasheen Gaither were a result of an investigation launched by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Trenton Police Department under the direction of Police Department Vishan Singh.
According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, both probable cause and criminal complaints were present in order to start an investigation into Rasheen Gaither for alleged sexual assault incidents. Filed complaints claim that Rasheen Gaither had sexually assaulted one victim under the age of 13 while she was staying at his residence for a night, and a second victim under the age of 13 at an illegal dispensary he runs in Trenton, New Jersey. Officers executed a court-authorized search warrant of “Bagged U”, the convenience store run by Rasheen Gaither, on the 100 block of Pennington Avenue. A handgun and four pounds of marijuana were seized during the search, and Rasheen Gaither was arrested outside the premises without incident.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Rasheen Gaither are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
