On November 30th, 2025, the arrest of Israel Salgado-Miron, age 39, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Israel Salgado-Miron was charged with Aggravated Arson and two counts of Arson. The arrest and charges against Israel Salgado-Miron were a result of an investigation handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on November 29th, 2025, a fire was responded to at a building on East Eight Street in Lakewood, New Jersey. First responders located the fire in the basement window well of the building, shortly after two more bush fires in the area were discovered. The three fires were tended to by firefighters and an investigation was promptly launched into the incidents. The window fire in the building on East Eight Street was determined to be caused by an open flame in conjunction with combustible materials. The two bush fires were determined to be incendiary, caused with a hot set and jackpot of fuel. Detectives had identified Israel Salgado-Miron to be the individual allegedly responsible for starting the fires.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Israel Salgado-Miron are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
