Story by Ethan

On May 16th, 2025, the arrest of Edwin Page, age 28, was announced by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr.. Edwin Page was charged with first and third-degree Sexual Abuse, first-degree Stalking, second-degree Attempted Assault, and three counts of Forcible Touching as a misdemeanor. The arrest and charges against Edwin Page were a result of an investigation handled by Detective Lauren Leibhauser and Detective Alfred Ortiz of the Manhattan Special Victims Squad

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 8:11 a.m. on April 25th, 2025, Edwin Page approached a legally blind woman on West 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. It’s alleged that the defendant had come up behind the victim while falsely claiming to be a detective, then groping her buttocks before running away. At approximately 12:11 p.m. on April 28th, 2025, Edwin Page returned to the same location on West 23rd Street to approach another stranger. Allegedly the defendant made several comments about being the victim’s boyfriend before putting his genitals on her leg. About 15 minutes later on West 26th Street and 6th Avenue Edwin Page entered a nail salon before making comments to a bystander about her being his girlfriend. As the victim attempted to leave the salon the defendant allegedly grabbed her behind. The defendant remained in the salon when at approximately 12:56 p.m. he approached another female customer and allegedly set her hair on fire, however she was able to put it out before sustaining any physical damage or injuries. Almost instantly afterwards Edwin Page approached a woman walking with her children and husband on West 26th and 6th, and allegedly grabbed her buttocks before being arrested near the nail salon.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Edwin Page are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
