Markos C. Alpar of New Milford, New Jersey, Indicted for Sexually Coercing a Minor Through Online Chats

On February 24th, 2026, the arrest of Markos C. Alpar, age 28, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Markos C. Alpar was charged with first and third-degree Production of Child Pornography, third-degree Obscenity to a Minor, third-degree Impairing or Debauching the Morals of a Child, and Lewdness as a disorderly persons offense. The arrest and charges against Markos C. Alpar were a result of an investigation handled by the New Milford Police Department, Oak Ridge (TN) Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Hackensack Police Department, Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Norwood Police Department, Waldwick Police Department, and Washington Township Police Department.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on February 20th, 2026, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at Markos C. Alpar’s residence stemmed from a months-long investigation into the defendant’s involvement with child endangerment and sexual activity. Detectives uncovered that Markos C. Alpar had used the internet to view, download, and possess media depicting nude and/or sexually explicit pubescent and pre-pubescent children. During the timeframe between December 2024 and January 2025 Markos C. Alpar was also alleged to have engaged with sexual chats online with a minor. Chat logs depict the defendant sharing pictures of his genitalia and instructing the juvenile to send him sexually explicit photos and videos of their intimate body parts. Following the search warrant being executed Markos C. Alpar was arrested and transported to the Bergen County Jail following the charges. 


The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Markos C. Alpar are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
