On August 4th, 2025, the arrest of Andrew R. Weaver, age 20, was announced by Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Andrew R. Weaver was charged with second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree Aggravated Assault, second-degree Being a Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon, and third-degree Criminal Mischief. The arrest and charges against Andrew R. Weaver were a result of an investigation handled by the Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, NJSP Strategic Investigations Unit, Warren County Regional Crime Scene Team, Warren County Tactical Response Team, Belvidere Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Barracks.
According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, officers from the Phillipsburg Police Department responded to an alert from ShotSpotter at approximately 3:36 a.m. on August 3rd, 2025. The report was made on the 400 block of Anderson Street, and responding officers discovered that several shots were fired at a residence with one bullet flying through a window. No injuries related to the shooting were reported, and security footage was recovered leading to the identification of Andrew R. Weaver as a main suspect. Later on the same day at approximately 3:00 p.m., a motor vehicle stop was performed on a car that Andrew R. Weaver was the passenger of and arrested him. The vehicle was then searched and officers found a Glock 9mm handgun.
The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Andrew R. Weaver are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
