Ian M. Walker of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Charged for Various Firearms Offenses

On September 2nd, 2025, the arrest of Ian M. Walker, age 50, was announced by Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Ian M. Walker was charged with second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, third-degree Being a Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon, third-degree Terroristic Threats, fourth-degree Aggravated Assault, and a disorderly persons offense of Simple Assault. The arrest and charges against Ian M. Walker were a result of an investigation handled by the Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, United States Marshal’s Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Unit, NJSP Strategic Investigations Unit, Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Newark, Millburn, Greenwich, Lopatcong, and Pohatcong Police Departments

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of an individual being assaulted and threatened with a firearm in a residence on Manor Road were responded to by officers from the Pohatcong Township Police Department at approximately 4:45 a.m. on August 29th, 2025. Officers attempted to contact Ian M. Walker, who knew the defendant prior to the incident, however he refused to cooperate and exit the residence. Due to the defendant’s response a coordinated plan of action to control the scene properly with the help of tactical assets and equipment. After a six hour standoff with several attempts to make contact with Ian M. Walker, the defendant eventually exited the residence and was arrested on the spot. A court-authorized search warrant was carried out at Ian M. Walker’s residence, where officers recovered various firearms and ammunition.


The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Ian M. Walker are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
