Andrew R. Weaver of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Charged for Assault and Firearms Offenses

On August 4th, 2025, the arrest of Andrew R. Weaver, age 20, was announced by Warren County Acting Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Andrew R. Weaver was charged with second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree Aggravated Assault, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (specifically a handgun), and third-degree Criminal Mischief. The arrest and charges against Andrew R. Weaver were a result of an investigation handled by the Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, NJSP Strategic Investigations Unit, Warren County Regional Crime Scene Team, Warren County Tactical Response Team, Belvidere Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Barracks

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 3:36 a.m. on August 3rd, 2025, Phillipsburg’s ShotSpotter reported an incident occurring around the 400 block of Anderson Street. Responding officers discovered that several shots were fired at a residence, one of the bullets going through a window, with no injuries reported on the scene. Video footage was recovered and depicted the suspect as Andrew R. Weaver, and he was located and arrested at approximately 3:00 p.m. later the same day. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the vehicle which he was a passenger of, and a search uncovered a glock 9mm handgun


The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Andrew R. Weaver are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
