Ian M. Walker of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Charged with Assault and Firearm Offenses

On August 29th, 2025, the arrest of Ian M. Walker, age 50, was announced by Warren County Acting Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Ian M. Walker was charged with a disorderly persons offense of Simple Assault, third-degree Terroristic Threats (threatening to kill the victim with a firearm), fourth-degree Aggravated Assault (specifically by pointing a firearm at or in the direction of the victim), second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and third-degree being a Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Ian M. Walker were a result of an investigation handled by the Pohatcong Township Police Department, New Jersey State Police Technical Response Bureau, NJSP Crisis Negotiation Team, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Warren County Tactical Response Team, and the Lopatcong Township, Greenwich Township, and Washington Township Police Departments

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 4:45 a.m. on August 25th, 2025, reports of an individual assaulting and threatening a victim with a firearm on Manor Road. Responding officers from the Pohatcong Township Police Department identified the suspect, Ian M. Walker, through his connection to the victim. Officers attempted to contact Ian M. Walker, who continued refusing to leave the residence, resulting in the decision to assume control of the area through tactical assets and tools. After six hours, Ian M. Walker finally exited the residence and was arrested on the spot. 


The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Ian M. Walker are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
