Anthony Moore of Paterson, New Jersey, Charged for August 4th, 2025 Shooting in Paterson

On October 2nd, 2025, the arrest of Anthony Moore, age 43, was announced by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes. Anthony Moore was charged with first-degree Attempted Murder, first-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, two counts of second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, two counts of second-degree Being a Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon, third-degree Hindering Apprehension, and fourth-degree Possessing a High-Capacity Magazine. The arrest and charges against Anthony Moore were a result of an investigation handled by the Paterson Police Department

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of a shooting were made at approximately 10:39 p.m. on August 4th, 2025, in the area of Park Avenue and Summer Street in Paterson, New Jersey. Responding officers from the Paterson Police Department located a 19-year old male victim suffering from multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds, which were given medical treatment after he was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Detectives were able to identify Anthony Moore as the suspect allegedly responsible for the aforementioned shooting. Anthony Moore was located and arrested on October 1st, 2025, in the area of Park Avenue and Summer Street.


The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Anthony Moore are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
