On March 5th, 2026, the arrest of Antonio Jackson, age 31, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Antonio Jackson was charged with first-degree Manslaughter, second-degree Murder, and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Antonio Jackson were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Fitz Edouard of the 42nd Precinct and Detective Shirley Perez-Romero of Bronx Homicide.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 9th, 2026, an argument ensued between Antonio Jackson and the victim, 34-year-old Aaron Carpenter, after he knocked on the defendant’s apartment door. When Aaron Carpenter had attempted to leave the defendant allegedly grabbed a 12-inch kitchen knife and continued following the victim to the lobby while still arguing. Aaron Carpenter exited the building before Antonio Jackson allegedly attacked him from behind, nearby security footage showing the victim crawling away from the defendant before collapsing between two parked cars. Aaron Carpenter was located shortly thereafter and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was eventually pronounced dead. Local police apprehended Antonio Jackson nearby without incident.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Antonio Jackson are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
