On May 20th, 2026, the arrests of Junior Alvarado (29), Brandon Suero (29), Erick Martinez (24), and Tajamar Daishah Hyatt (29), were announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. All four defendants were charged in a 51-count indictment with Criminal Sale of a Firearm, Conspiracy, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Rifle or Shotgun in a Sensitive Location, and Possession of Ammunition. The arrest and charges against Junior Alvarado, Brandon Suero, Erick Martinez, and Tajamar Daishah Hyatt were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detectives Ferdi Memedoski and Konti Markvukaj, Sergeant William Rojas, Lieutenants Daniel Maria and Robert Fischer, Captain Alberto Gonzalez and Inspector Miguel Iglesias, of Narcotics Borough Bronx Major Case Unit.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, from the dates of July 2nd, 2025, and November 6th, 2025, an undercover operation was conducted on East Clarke Place in the Concourse neighborhood. The undercover transactions stemmed from an investigation initiated by Narcotics Borough Bronx and the Bronx District Attorney’s Office Special Investigations Bureau looking into Junior Alvarado’s sales of firearms, narcotics, and controlled substances. This led to the defendant being charged with first-degree Criminal Sale of a Firearm for allegedly selling three or more firearms in the span of a year.
As the investigation progressed it was revealed that Brandon Suero, Erick Martinez, and Tajamar Daishah Hyatt provided some of the firearms that Junior Alvarado had sold. One incident was carried out at approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 7th, 2025, at a playground area on East Clarke Place all the defendants and an undercover officer met each other including Tajamar Daishah Hyatt carrying a black backpack with a loaded Ruger 9-mm pistol inside. The transaction was captured on surveillance video when allegedly Junior Alvarado first counted cash the officer handed him before then taking the backpack from Tajamar Daishah Hyatt and handing it to the undercover officer. It’s reported that officers had purchased a total of nine firearms from the defendants; seven pistols, a .300-caliber Blackout American Technical semi-automatic rifle (AR-15 style), and one inoperable pistol. Undercover officers also had purchased oxycodone pills, alprazolam pills, and cocaine.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Junior Alvarado, Brandon Suero, Erick Martinez, and Tajamar Daishah Hyatt are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
