On February 10th, 2026, the arrest of Rami Mohamad, age 43, was announced by Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly. Rami Mohamad was charged with second-degree Grand Larceny as a C felony. The arrest and charge against Rami Mohamad were a result of an investigation handled by the Nassau County Police Department’s Fraud and Forgery Section.
According to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, from as early as May 2021 Rami Mohamad was hired by the Chabad of Roslyn Inc. in Roslyn Heights, New York, for various handyman and carpentry services. The Chabad of Roslyn Inc. would pay the defendant through issued checks taken out from its business checking account. These checks contained standard baking information such as routing numbers and account numbers. During December 2024 it was discovered that unauthorized payments were being made to various entities due to missing funds from the Chabad of Roslyn Inc.’s business account. These payments were made through several different credit card and other bank accounts allegedly under Rami Mohamad’s name. A joint investigation was initiated by the Nassau County Police Department’s Fraud and Forgery Section and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office that unveiled between the months of May 2021 and December 2024 Rami Mohamad allegedly had stolen approximately $157,104 from the Chabad of Roslyn Inc., approximately $153,754 from 340 debits to Automated Clearing House and approximately $3,350 from check fraud. It’s alleged that Rami Mohamad used the stolen funds for personal expenses including over a dozen credit cards and various utility bills.
The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Rami Mohamad are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
