On February 19th, 2026, the arrest of Shaquille Green, age 30, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Shaquille Green was charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Shaquille Green were a result of an investigation handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Jackson Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on September 6th, 2025, shots fired in the area of Larson Road at the Paragon Apartment Complex were reported to the Jackson Township Police Department via 911 call they received. The 911 call also claimed to have observed an unresponsive female in the middle of the roadway. Responding officers located the female victim near the complex’s exit, deceased at the scene, with several gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Toraya Reid, in addition to Shaquille Green being observed running on North New Prospect Road leading to his identification. Further investigation revealed that Shaquille Green and Toraya Reid were previously in a dating relationship, leading to detectives alleging the defendant as the individual responsible for the victim’s death.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Shaquille Green are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
