On September 26th, 2025, the arrest of Tysan Davis, age 36, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Tysan Davis was charged with Aggravated Arson. The arrest and charges against Tysan Davis were a result of an investigation handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of an active structure fire were reported to the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments at approximately 4:45 p.m. on September 25th, 2025. Responding personnel discovered the source of fire was bunched up clothing smoldering an air conditioning condenser, swiftly extinguishing the flames. Detectives determined that the cause of the fire starting was incendiary involving igniting a liquid with an open flame. Tysan Davis was identified by officers to allegedly have been the individual responsible for starting the fire.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Tysan Davis are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
