On November 9th, 2025, the arrest of William Donohoe, age 43, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. William Donohoe was charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Assault by Auto. The arrest and charges against William Donohoe were a result of an investigation handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit – Vehicular Homicide Squad, Brick Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, a motor vehicle crash occurred at the Midstreams Road and Midstreams Place intersection at approximately 10:55 p.m. on November 8th, 2025. After thorough investigation by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit-Vehicular Homicide Unit revealed that a Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound on Midstreams Place before making a lefthand turn onto Midstreams Road, failing to stop in time before striking a 15-year old pedestrian using an electric bicycle. The Nissan Rogue continued driving westbound on Midstreams Road without stopping to check on the victim or call 911 to report the accident. Due to injuries sustained from the crash, the victim was located and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey where he is currently in stable condition and receiving care.

While responding officers from the Brick Township Police Department were rendering aid to the victim, William Donohoe approached the crash site from a far distance away. Officers report that they observed William Donohoe and determined that he was intoxicated. This led to officers administering a field sobriety test (FST) on William Donohoe, which he was unable to perform successfully and subsequently led to his arrest and being charged for Driving Under the Influence. William Donohoe’s blood was drawn at Ocean University Medical Center in Brick Township, New Jersey, due to a court-authorized order.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against William Donohoe are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
