On July 24th, 2025, the arrest of William Jones, age 32, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. William Jones was charged with four counts of second-degree Rape, four counts of third-degree Rape, four counts of Sexual Misconduct, five counts of first-degree Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against William Jones were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Police Officers Amanda Blatt and Tatiana Torres of the Bronx Special Victims Squad

According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, several reports were made about William Jones having sexual relations with one of his 13-year-old students. William Jones was a 7th grade math teacher at the American Dream Charter School on 141st Street in Mott Haven, which is how the defendant has known the victim. Allegedly William Jones had raped the victim several times between the dates of April 28th, 2025, and June 8th, 2025. The incidents would occur in the victim’s house when her parents wouldn’t be home. On the final incident the victim’s sister had caught them getting dressed together. Following this the victim’s mother searched through her phone and found text messages, photos, and videos of sexual nature and content, including media depicting male genitalia. The victim’s mother contacted the school to ask about the phone number, and upon learning it was William Jones’ phone number she reported the case to the NYPD. William Jones left from his teaching position at the American Dream Charter School allegedly due to the ongoing investigation into this matter.

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against William Jones are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
