On August 18th, 2025, the arrest of Brian Baldari, age 47, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Brian Baldari was charged with Vehicular Homicide, Aggravated Manslaughter, and Assault by Auto. The arrest and charges against Brian Baldari were a result of an investigation launched by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Lakewood Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, a multi-vehicle crash was reported to Lakewood Township Police in the area of Route 70 and Airport Road at approximately 5:50 a.m. on March 7th, 2025. The crash involved a total of 8 vehicles, one of which was a Cadillac CT5 Blackwing. Detectives identified Brian Baldari as the driver of the Cadillac CT5 Blackwing at the time of the crash, traveling west while in the eastbound lane. Brian Baldari had collided with a Mr. Borja, who was driving a Mazda CX5, causing several other vehicles to be struck before Brian Baldari’s vehicle came to a stop. Brian Baldari’s vehicle subsequently caught on fire while he was stuck inside, and emergency personnel removed him from the vehicle and transported him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, before being taken to Weill Cornell Medicine Burn Center in New York City. Detectives allege that Brian Baldari had been traveling 103 miles-per-hour in the incorrect lane for two miles straight before colliding into Mr. Borja’s vehicle.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Brian Baldari are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
