On June 18th, 2025, the arrest of La’Keysha Jackson, age 24, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. La’Keysha Jackson was charged with two counts of second-degree Assault, four counts of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, three counts of Attempted Assault in the second-degree, and three-counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against La’Keysha Jackson were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Eric Droz from the Bronx Child Abuse Squad and NYPD Detective Cesar De Leon from the Bronx Warrant Squad.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, La’Keysha Jackson was present at the victims’ family home numerous times between April 2024 and May 2025 providing home making services for the family as a Selfhelp employee. The family was referred by the Administration for Children’s Services to the Family Home Care program which La’Keysha Jackson was a member of. The family owned a home video monitor which allegedly caught La’Keysha Jackson abusing the two children, ages 4 and 6, that she was tasked to care for. Allegedly video footage captured La’Keysha Jackson whipping the children with a belt on numerous occasions, using a pink hanger as a weapon to strike the kids three separate times, as well as screaming at the children while they were crying.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against La’Keysha Jackson are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
