Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, Charged for Aggravated Assault Against a Child

On April 3rd, 2025, the arrest of Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda, age 24, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest and charges against Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Yakup Zoklu of the Cliffside Park Police Department

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on April 1st, 2025, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency about an alleged case of child physical abuse. Authorities promptly launched an investigation revealing that allegedly Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda had physically assaulted a minor in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, on March 30th, 2025. Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda was located and arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, the next day. 


The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Ceily C. Sunun-Miranda are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
