On January 18th, 2026, the arrest of Christian D. Para-Pescoso, age 36, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Christian D. Para-Pescoso was charged with first-degree Attempted Murder, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, third-degree Aggravated Assault, and fourth-degree Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine. The arrest and charges against Christian D. Para-Pescoso were a result of an investigation handled by the Englewood Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 3:52 a.m. on January 18th, 2026, a shooting at a private residence was responded to by the Englewood Police Department on Charles Street in Englewood, New Jersey. Responding officers managed to locate a female victim suffering from arm and shoulder injuries sustained from gunfire. The victim was transported to HMH Hackensack University Medical Center in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Christian D. Para-Pescoso was identified as a suspect and was subsequently detained on the scene by the Englewood Police Department. While the defendant was under police custody an investigation was launched into the shooting incident. The investigation alleges that Christian D. Para-Pescoso assaulted the victim with a handgun by striking her on the head with the butt of the gun before firing several shots, one of which ended up hitting the victim.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Christian D. Para-Pescoso are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
