On March 21st, 2025, the arrest of Brayan Escobar, age 18, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Brayan Escobar was charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography, and third-degree possession of child pornography. The arrest and charges against Brayan Escobar were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on March 19th, 2025, Brayan Escobar was identified during an internet child abuse investigation being performed by their Cyber Crimes Unit. Brayan Escobar had allegedly used his internet access to view, download, save, post, and distribute photos and videos depicting juveniles in sexually explicit content. Brayan Escobar was promptly located and arrested later that day in Fairview, New Jersey.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Brayan Escobar are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
