Joel U. Brito of Teaneck, New Jersey, Charged with Criminal Sexual Contact Against a Juvenile

On March 31st, 2025, the arrest of Joel U. Brito, age 48, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Joel U. Brito was charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. The arrest and charges against Joel U. Brito was a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Mustafa Rabboh of the Bergenfield Police Department.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on March 29th, 2025, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Bergenfield Police Department about an alleged child sexual assault case. Detectives determined that Joel U. Brito allegedly sexually assaulted and endangered a minor in Bergenfield, New Jersey. Joel U. Brito was promptly located and arrested in Bergenfield after the alleged incident took place that morning. 


The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Joel U. Brito are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
