On March 10th, 2025, the arrest of Carlos L. Sibri, age 33, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Carlos L. Sibri was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, and first-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault. The arrest and charges against Carlos L. Sibri were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Michael Antista of the Hackensack Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on December 17th, 2023, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Hackensack University Medical Center about one of their patients that had allegedly been part of a sexual assault incident. A joint investigation revealed that Carlos L. Sibri had allegedly sexually assaulted the victim in Hackensack, New Jersey sometime between the dates of December 16th and 17th of 2023. Carlos L. Sibri was located and arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, and held in the Bergen County Jail until his first court appearance.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Carlos L. Sibri are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
