Deandre J. Nunez of Edgewater, New Jersey, Charged with Sexual Assault on a Child

On May 27th, 2025, the arrest of Deandre J. Nunez, age 22, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Deandre J. Nunez was charged with second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest and charges against Deandre J. Nunez were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Donald Martin of the Edgewater Police Department

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on May 21st, 2025, their Special Victim’s Unit was contacted by the Edgewater Police Department regarding an alleged sexual assault on a minor. Through police investigation, it’s alleged that between November 2024 and May 2025 Deandre J. Nunez sexually assaulted and endangered a child between the ages of thirteen and sixteen on multiple occasions. 


The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Deandre J. Nunez are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
