On March 1st, 2025, the arrest of Enjaim E. Bowman, age 24, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Enjaim E. Bowman was charged with fourteen counts of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree attempted burglary, twelve counts of third-degree theft, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and seven counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. The arrest and charges against Enjaim E. Bowman were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Chief Michale Antista of the Hackensack Police Department, and Police Director Chris Donnelly of the Union Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, several areas in New Jersey and New York were being affected by multiple burglaries over a two month period throughout December 2024 and January 2025. Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Reduction Unit were able to determine a connection between burglaries that occurred throughout New Jersey in Middlesex County, Morris County, Union County, and areas in New York. It was uncovered that allegedly fourteen different Dunkin Donuts locations in the aforementioned areas were all robbed by the same suspect in the nighttime hours over the two month period. The suspect also allegedly had attempted to burglarize a fifteenth store but was unsuccessful in doing so. Released surveillance footage depicted an individual male breaking into stores through prying doors and windows open before taking any money from cash registers, safes, and manager’s offices.
Detectives allege that Enjaim E. Bowman was the suspect responsible for all the burglarizing incidents. The incidents that Enjaim E. December 13, 2024, 2:11 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 1704 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, NJ; $1,525 stolen; $500 damage. December 21, 2024, 1:36 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 380 Essex Street, Lodi, NJ; $1,990.44 stolen. December 21, 2024, 1:59 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 150 Passaic Street, Hackensack, NJ; $800 stolen, $140 in gift cards; $1,350 damage. January 19, 2025, 2:05 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 636 Westwood Avenue, River Vale, NJ; $858 stolen; $1,000 damage. Enajaim E. Bowman handed himself in to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office to be taken into custody before being placed in the Bergen County Jail until his first court appearance.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Enajaim E. Bowman are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
