On October 1st, 2025, the arrest of Matthew C. Robinson Jr., age 28, was announced by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Matthew C. Robinson Jr. was charged from a complaint summons with third-degree Theft. The arrest and charges against Matthew C. Robinson Jr. were a result of an investigation handled by [Officers/Detectives].
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, their Professional Standards and Accountability Unit were notified on August 7th, 2025, about an executive member, specifically the treasurer, of the Mays Landing Fire Department potentially having spent some of the organization’s money for personal use between January 2024 and January 2025. The defendant Matthew C. Robinson Jr. was the treasurer for the organization, allegedly used his responsibility of managing the organization’s bank accounts in order to transfer, withdraw, and spend money for personal use. Allegedly Matthew C. Robinson Jr. had also altered purchase descriptions and deleted debt lines in the accounting book prior to submitting the reports for taxing purposes.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Matthew C. Robinson Jr. are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
