On August 4th, 2025, the arrest of Sheldon Ward, age 26, was announced by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Sheldon Ward was charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. The arrest and charges against Sheldon Ward were a result of an investigation handled by the Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office and the Atlantic City Police Department.
According to the Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office, a 911 call was made at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 28th, 2025, reporting a man lying on the sidewalk outside the Martinque Motel at 3029 Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Responding officers from the Atlantic City Police Department identified Kendell Roseborough as the unresponsive male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Kendel Roseborough was pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives determined the cause of death to be the gunshot wound, and the manner of death to be homicide. Sheldon Ward was taken into custody without incident by officers from the United States Marshall Task Force.
The Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Sheldon Ward are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
